In their efforts to promote all styles of music to children, the MCBQ has
uniquely designed programs for all ages. All programs include Q&A
sessions. Presentations run between 45 minutes and 1 hour.
Introduction of the Instruments:
Quintet members demonstrate and discuss their respective
instrument. The quintet performs selections which feature each
instrument soloist.
Peter and the Wolf:
Sergei Prokofiev's classic composition has been
arranged for brass quintet, piano, drums, and narrator. This piece is
about a half-hour and along with questions and answers makes for a nice
presentation. The program is rounded out with other light musical
selections.

A Musical Journey-500 Years of Music:
The quintet performs music from various periods dating from the
1500's to the present day. Quintet members discuss and
specifically demonstrate the characteristics of each style.
Brass Teamwork-An Introduction to Chamber Music:
Quintet members perform in various settings: solos, duos, trios,
quartets, and quintets. It provides a setting to hear what the
the instruments sound like in various combinations. Various
aspects of chamber music are discussed.

Rehearsal Techniques:
Through instruction and demonstration, students are
coached on efficient rehearsal methods and musical issues that
arise when performing in a small brass ensemble.
